MCC-2011
Fourth Swedish Workshop on Multicore Computing
November 23-25, 2011, Linköping University
Travel information - How to get to the workshop venue in Linköping
MCC-2011 will be held at Linköping university, Campus Valla, B-house entry 27, Department of computer and information science (IDA), in the Visionen lecture hall (opposite to Cafe Java).
By taxi or bus from the train station / city center to the workshop venue:
A taxi ride from Linköping central station or the city center to the workshop venue takes about 10 minutes and costs approx. 200 SEK.
There are regular bus
connections from Linköping train station (Resecentrum)
to the main university campus (Campus Valla).
E.g., take bus 12 towards Lambohov or bus 20 to the University campus (Valla).
Leave the bus at bus stop Vallfarten
(it is one bus stop after the one called Universitetet)
and walk east towards the B-house.
Also, bus line 2 can be taken
from resecentrum to the Campus Valla, leave at bus stop FOI
and walk north (sports hall Campushallen to your right).
NB - Bus tickets cannot be purchased in the bus.
You can pay the fare either by SMS (see instructions at the station)
just before entering, or purchase at the
Östgötatrafiken
counter in the local bus waiting hall
at the train station a pre-paid card (resekort) for 100 SEK
from which the fare will be deduced (using an automaton in the bus, make
sure to not remove the card from the RFID sensor too early and wait for
the OK signal),
where the initial 100 SEK balance on the card is good for approx. 5 bus trips,
then the card can be refilled e.g. at the counter or
in the Pressbyrån shop located in the center of the campus.

By Car
Coming from Jönköping or from Stockholm on the E4,
leave at exit Linköping West (Västra),
that is the first stop of Linköping when coming
from south-west or the last stop from north.
Follow the signs to University. You will drive on a still four track motorway about 4km.
Then you reach a huge roundabout, the Valla rondellen.
Here you take the first to the right, again
direction University. Continue straightforwardly after the following
small roundabout.
Enter on entrance 2 of the university (it is the second on the left).
Go straight ahead across a crossing, and you should enter a large parking lot. Find a place. NB - the parking row closest to the Zenit house costs a fee.
Find the Visionen lecture hall
The workshop venue (including the tutorials on 23/11) is located in the B-house, first floor (entry level). Take entrance 27 on the eastern side (from the Corso) and walk along the corridor for ca. 30 meters, then the entrance to Visionen is to your left.
Note that the doors are generally locked outside business hours.
For more informations on directions see the
maps.
